Funeral service for Mr. Belmont Lamar Evers, 89, of Dadeville, will be Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church. Pastor Ben Arellano will officiate. He will lie instate at the Church for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in the Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home. Mr. Evers passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at East Alabama Medical Center. He was born on March 14, 1925 in Eagle Creek, Alabama to Charles E. Evers and LaUna Lester Evers. He was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Dadeville. Mr. Evers honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Upon his return from the war he owned and operated Evers Motor Company. He enjoyed working in his yard and bird hunting.He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Grace Duffey Evers of Dadeville; sons, Phil Evers (Debbie) and Jimmy Evers (Sharon), both of Dadeville; grandchildren, Matthew Evers (Kelly), Brian Evers, Austin Evers, Jeremy Trowbridge, and Amanda Brooke (Hayden); great-grandchildren, Kamden Evers, Kole Evers, Katelyn Evers, Mason Evers, Matthew Evers, Jr., and Bentley Brooke; brother, Dwight Evers of Dadeville; and sister, Frances Evers of Lafayette.He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ann Elizabeth Dillenberg and Eloise Ragland; and brother, James Lester Evers.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.langleyfuneralhome.com.Langley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
