Mrs. Deara Kate Spraggins

Funeral service for Mrs. Deara Kate Spraggins, 102, of Dadeville, will be Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Spraggins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home. Mrs. Spraggins passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Lake Martin Community Hospital. She was born on May 31, 1913 in Chilton County, Alabama to Joseph Elic Ray and Mary Alice Powell Ray. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook and made the best green beans and fried apple pies. She was self employed as a seamstress and upholsterer. Mrs. Spraggins also had a green thumb and always had beautiful flowers. She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Juanita Spraggins of Albany, GA and Nita Spraggins of Jackson, GA; grandchildren, Carey Spraggins (Cheryl) of Jackson, GA, Timothy Spraggins (Sylvia) of Albany, GA, Craig Spraggins of Dawsonville, GA, and Mark Spraggins (Vera) of Leesburg, GA; and 10 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tommie J. Spraggins; and sons, Tommie Ray Spraggins and Cerelle Spraggins.
