Dorothy Ann Holland, 89, of Dadeville, AL passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at her home on Lake Martin. Born on November 5, 1924, in St. Cloud, MN to Carl William and Elizabeth Latterell Broding, she was preceded in death by her husband, Myles Dahlgren; her parents; sister, Bernice Marie Broding; and brothers, Robert Andrew Broding and Harold Ralph Broding. Ms. Holland was born and raised in St. Cloud, MN. She graduated from the University Of Minnesota School Of Nursing with a certificate in Public Health and a BS degree in nursing. In 1967, she earned a Masters in Public Health Nursing from Tulane University. During her career she worked at the Bureau of Public Health Nursing in Montgomery, AL, was an assistant Professor of Community Nursing at Troy University, Troy, AL, and then worked in the BS degree program, the Associate Degree Program, and the Upward Mobility Degree program of Troy University in Montgomery, AL. After her retirement in 1986, she moved to Lake Martin, her little place of heaven on earth, where she resided until her death. She is survived by her sons, Richard Myles Holland of Dadeville, AL, James Andrew Dahlgren of Amsterdam, Cornelius Patrick Holland, III (Debra) of St. Simons Island, GA, and Thomas Lawrence Holland (Lauri) of Memphis, TN and four grandchildren, Kyle Andrew Holland (Lindsey) and Laura Ashley Holland of St. Simons Island, GA, and Sophia Holland and Nicholas Holland of Memphis, TN; and two great grandchildren, Graham and Liam Holland of St. Simons Island, GA; and her brother, William Clyde Broding of Wakefield, MA. A private family memorial will be conducted at her Lake Martin home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to her church, St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, 454 N.
