Funeral service for Mrs. Joyce Yarbrough Caldwell, 69, of Jackson's Gap, will be Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Charlie Horton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dadeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home. Mrs. Caldwell passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at her residence. She was born on August 21, 1944 in Alexander City, Alabama to Olvin Eugene Yarbrough and Irene Haynes Harris. She was a member of Jackson's Gap Baptist Church and sang in the choir at an early age. Mrs. Joyce worked for several years at Avondale Mills, Russell Corp. and she also served as a waitress at several local restaurants. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed sewing, gardening and collecting angels. She was very active in the Jackson’s Gap Community and loved helping with Pioneer Day. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Leroy Wayne Caldwell of Jackson's Gap; her children, Donna Robbins of Montgomery, Gary Caldwell of Dadeville, Lecia McGlaughn (Kenneth) of Alexander City, Steve Caldwell (Amber) of Dadeville, Audra McClure (Chris) of Alexander City, and Dr. Jeremy Caldwell-Whaley of Hattiesburg, MS; grandchildren, Hunter Robbins, Brandi Shelton (Kevin), Christy Chakya (Paul), Brooke Esmont (Steven), Nikki Fraser (Christopher Ruiz), Megan Harper, Stephen Caldwell, Jr., Brandon Caldwell (Danielle McCoy), Jonathan Caldwell, Luke Caldwell, Matthew McClure and Zach McClure; great-grandchildren, Layton Ward, Sayler Ward, Bently Shelton, Lance Chayka, Cole Chayka, Lane Chayka and Raylee Caldwell; sister, Margaret Nell Wesson (Ben) of Jackson's Gap; sister-in-law, Faye Tate of Jackson’s Gap; cousins, Louise Booth (George) and Lucian Roberts all of Jackson’s Gap; special friends, Fred and Ann Berry of Alexander City; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas "Red" Yarbrough; and grandsons, Michael Bradley Robbins and Charlie Frank McClure. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Mack Barnes, Dr. Mary Emily Sheffield and the staff of the Cancer Center of Russell Medical Center, Rev. Charlie Horton, Fred and Ann Berry and the Hillabee Campground United Methodist Church family for the love, care and support that has been extended to Mrs. Caldwell and the family.
