Mrs. Ann Waldrop's Obituary
Funeral service for Mrs. Ann Waldrop, 69, of Opelika, will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Freddie Thrower and Rev. Jamey Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Waldrop passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at East Alabama Medical Center. She was born on August 4, 1945 in Columbus, Mississippi to James Olin Smith and Mary Ophelia Burke Smith. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She worked for 20 years at Kmart working her way up to Assistant Manager. Mrs. Waldrop enjoyed gospel singing, playing bingo, and going to yard sales. She was also a wonderful cook and loved helping others. Mrs. Waldrop loved talking about her love, her grandson Cole, and spending time with her family most of all.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Wayne C. Waldrop of Opelika; sons, Aubrey Williams (Karen) and Scott Williams (Kristin Thomas), all of Jackson’s Gap, and Wesley Waldrop (Julii) of Benton, KY; grandchildren, Matthew Jenkins, Johnathan Jenkins (Cassandra), Cody Warren, Jade Williams, Grace Williams, Cole Waldrop, Gabby Williams, and Ansley Thomas; great-grandchild, McKenzie Jenkins; sisters, Jerry Barrington and Gail Smith; and brother, Bud Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
