Funeral Service for Mrs. Barbara Allen Jennings, 86, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Pastor Guy Hannum and Mr. Marty Adams will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barbara Allen Jennings, known lovingly as Barbara, passed away on March 30, 2026, in Dadeville, Alabama, at the age of 86. She was born on September 1, 1939, in Alexander City, Alabama, Barbara lived a life marked by faith, creativity, and devotion to others. She was a Christian woman whose steady presence, warm spirit, and gracious manner touched many lives over the years. Those who knew her will remember her as loving, faith-filled, and creative, with a personality that brought light and energy into every room she entered.
Barbara built a meaningful career as an Interior Decorator and Designer, where her natural eye for beauty and detail was evident in all she did. She had a gift for creating spaces that were both welcoming and elegant, and she took pride in using her talents to help others make their surroundings a reflection of comfort and style. Her work was an extension of her personality, blending imagination, organization, and a strong sense of purpose.
Her faith was central to her life, and she was a longtime member of New Covenant Church in Dadeville. Barbara was deeply committed to her church family and served faithfully in many ways through the years. She was also a supportive pastor’s wife for 32 years, standing faithfully beside her husband in ministry with strength, encouragement, and unwavering devotion. Her service to the church was a true reflection of her heart for God and for people.
Barbara was known for her love of planning, organizing, and, as those close to her would affectionately say, “bossing.” She had a wonderful ability to take charge when needed and to bring order and direction with confidence and charm. She enjoyed being involved and was happiest when she could help things run smoothly. Her leadership was often paired with a warm sense of humor and a genuine concern for the well-being of others.
Barbara was a gifted storyteller who could capture attention with her words and keep listeners engaged with her lively personality and expressive way of sharing. Her conversations were often filled with wit, warmth, and memorable stories that reflected the richness of her life and the depth of her experiences. She had a way of making people feel included, entertained, and encouraged.
Barbara’s life was one of devotion to her faith, her family, her church, and her many friendships. She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and steadfast Christian witness. Her influence will be remembered not only in the beautiful spaces she helped create, but also in the hearts of those who were blessed by her presence, her words, and her example.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. Barbara Allen Jennings lived with purpose, spoke with conviction, and loved with sincerity. Her life was a testament to faith, service, and the beauty of a spirit devoted to God and to others.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Pastor Ronald Lee Jennings; son, Blake (Deanna) Jennings; grandchildren, Russ Turner, Abby (Brandon) Blasingame, Lindy (Brad) Tapley, and Dalton Jennings; great-grandchildren, Maddie Turner, TJ Vanderford, Dallas Blasingame, Penny Leigh Blasingame, Anna Carson Tapley, and Ross Tapley; and sister, Sandra Cantrell.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Leigh Paxtet.
