Mr. Bethel Lindsey Wheeler Jr.'s Obituary
Graveside Service for Mr. Bethel Lindsey Wheeler, Jr., 88, of Jackson's Gap, will be Monday, February 25, 2019 at 11:00 am at the graveside at Dadeville City Cemetery. Dr. Ben Hayes will officiate. Veterans Honors will be provided by the United States Army. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. Wheeler passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at his residence. He was born on August 7, 1930 in Fairfield, Alabama to Bethel Wheeler, Sr. and Johnnie Mae Sisk Wheeler. He was an active member of First Baptist Church and kept the Sunday School records. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Birmingham Airport for 35 years then retired to Lake Martin. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Wheeler enjoyed woodworking, boat riding, and Alabama Football.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Diane Wheeler of Jackson's Gap; sons, Mark Wheeler of Helena and Lee Wheeler (Kim) of Bessemer; and grandchildren, Jarred Wheeler and Jordan Wheeler.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
