Betty Doris Henderson Pearson's Obituary
Funeral service for Mrs. Betty Doris Henderson Pearson, 80, of Dadeville, will be Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Dadeville with Bro. Gary Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Dadeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Dadeville.
Mrs. Pearson passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at East Alabama Medical Center. She was born on June 2, 1934 to Thomas Lee Henderson and Mamie Lucille Heaton Johnson.
Mrs. Betty Doris Henderson Pearson was born and raised in Dadeville, Alabama. She graduated from Auburn University in Clothing and Textile in the School of Home Economics in 1955. She married her high school sweetheart, Frank Langley Pearson, in 1954 and this September 5, 2014 celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They have four children: Cynthia Black, Pam Schreiber (Dick), Alan Pearson (Donna) and Brian Pearson. They have 11 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She began work at age 39 with the Dept. of Pensions and Security, now known as Dept. of Human Resources, and retired after 25 years of dedicated service.
Her hobbies have included art, collecting recipes, and flower gardening. She also participated in school, scout, and civic clubs. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Dadeville and enjoyed singing in the church choir as long as she could. Mrs. Pearson loved her family and friends, especially her ten closest high school girlfriends.
