Mrs. Beverly Sue Ausborn's Obituary
Memorial Service for Mrs. Beverly Sue Ausborn, 78, of Dadeville, will be at Lake Community Church on July 18th, 2026, at 1:00pm. Beverly was born on April 11, 1948 in Clanton, Alabama to James Elbert Jones and Hazel McCrary Jones and she went to be with her savior, Jesus, on July 8th 2026.
Beverly lived her life with a carefree spirit, not being held back by social norms. She never met a stranger and loved to chat with anyone she met. She had a gift of turning simple moments into fun loving memories. She had a warm heart and generously gave to any she found in need. That generosity reminds us all that our treasure is not found here with material items.
She was a proud master gardener. Even when she was diagnosed with cancer and taking treatments, she was determined to finish the training. Her love of gardening was a lifetime hobby. Most days she could be found outside tending her beautiful flowers. Many would stop and ask her about different plants in bloom and she took great joy in seeing others enjoy her hard work. Those who knew Beverly will remember her as kind, generous and spirited. This was the rhythm of her life. She loved her friends and family with a deep and committed heart. She gave freely of her time, her attention and her love. She encouraged others with sincerity and met people with a kindness that made them feel seen and valued.
She moved to Dadeville, Al in 2023 and found a church home at Lake Community Church. She grew in her faith and was baptized and loved her church family as her own. She often commented that she had never known a church as loving as hers. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Tara Nelson and her husband Tim of Dadeville, Alabama; her sisters, Esther Terzin and Sidney Craig; her stepdaughter, Amy Smithart and her husband Michael; her stepson Richard Ausborn; her nephew, Cebo Craig and his wife Tammy; her niece, Amanda Terzin; her nephew Cory Craig and his wife Tonja. She also leaves behind many who cherished her and were blessed by her
love. Each of them carries a piece of her story.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Richard Ausborn; her father, James Elbert Jones; her mother, Hazel Jones; and her niece, Terri Chesser. Though their absence was felt deeply, she carried the memory of those she loved with her and her heart remained connected to them through every chapter she walked. Beverly’s journey was one of fun, creativity and love. She did not simply pass through life. She skipped through it enjoying life, traveling, planting gardens wherever she went.
Today, we honor Beverly not only for the life she lived but for the example she leaves behind. Let her memory remind us to be generous even when the world feels guarded. Let her spirit remind us to be kind when others are weary. Let her life remind us to stay spirited, to keep creating and enjoy God’s beautiful earth. Beverly lived with her heart, many times telling those she loved that she loved them with her heart. Let that be a reminder to us all that the greatest gift we can give is to love people.
