Mr. Willard "Bill" D. Elkins' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Willard "Bill" Douglas Elkins, 67, of Dadeville, will be Monday, December 18, 2017 at 12:00 pm at the Union Methodist Church. Rev. David Waldrop will officiate. Burial will follow in the Union Methodist Cemetery with veteran honors provided by the Alex City Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 11:00 am to 11:45 am at Union Methodist Church.
Mr. Elkins passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Bethany House. He was born on January 12, 1950 in Tallassee, Alabama to Willard O. Elkins and Wilma Lee Carroll Elkins. He was an active member of Union Methodist Church. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. Bill loved life and enjoyed having a good time. He also loved his family very much and his grandson Logan was his pride and joy.
He is survived by his son, Robbie D. Elkins (Amanda) of Opelika; grandson, Logan Elkins of Opelika; brother, Jack Elkins (Myrna) of Denver, CO; sisters, Sheila Holley (Mike) of Dadeville and Sandra Collum (Leon) of Kermit, TX; nephews, Bobby Holley (Carolee), Troy Holley (Christy), Steven Elkins and Michael Elkins
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 44 years, Mary Fatima Dias Elkins; and nephew, Tyrone Collum.
