1940-2015
Carl Edward Tolleson passed away on July 4th, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL after emergency gallbladder surgery. Ed was born on September 25, 1940 to Rev. Carl Tolleson and Lois Frances Giles Tolleson, in Atlanta, Ga. As the son of a Methodist minister in the North Alabama Conference, they moved around frequently, living in Crossville, Birmingham, Dadeville, Talladega, Boaz and Shawmut in his younger years. He eventually settled in Brunswick, GA, working for his brother at T.A. Tolleson Construction Company. He had one son, Carl Edward Tolleson, Jr. from Brunswick, GA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lois; his brother, Tommy Tolleson; and sister, Carolyn Cordes. He is survived by his son, Ed Jr. of Brunswick, GA; sister, Kathy Hayman (Stephen) of Houston, TX; and brother Robbie Tolleson (Tina) of Lanett, AL, as well as a host of nephews and nieces. Graveside service will be at Dadeville Cemetery in Dadeville, AL at 11 AM CDT on Saturday, July 18th. Ed struggled with many issues throughout his life, both mental and physical, but he had a sweet soul. He will be missed.
