Carlton Leo Bartlett
Funeral service for Mr. Carlton Leo Bartlett, 60, of Alexander City, will be Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 11:00 am at Langley Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bruce Willis and Rev. Carl Kelly, both childhood friends of Mr. Bartlett, will officiate. Burial will follow at Tallapoosa Memory Garden. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 23, 2013, from 6 pm until 8 pm. Mr. Bartlett passed away on August 22, 2013, at Russell Medical Center. He was born on July 31, 1953. He was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church. Mr. Bartlett worked at Western Sizzlin Steak House for 27 years and was a Caterer in the Alex City area for 20 years. He was active in the Christian Music Ministry for over 40 years, serving as Minister of Music at several churches in Tallapoosa County. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing. Mr. Bartlett loved Auburn football. He was a season ticket holder for 27 years and in that time, only missed 4 games. Mr. Bartlett also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who loved his family greatly, especially his grandson. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Bartlett, son Jason Bartlett (Wendy); grandson William Bartlett; brothers, Bill Bartlett and Ken Bartlett (Jan); mother-in-law Vernese Kellum; brother-in-law Stanley Sims (Marilyn); sister-in-law Melissa Pritchard (Sonny), several nieces and nephews; and his special football and baseball friend, Mark Crew.
