A visitation to celebrate the life of Corlie Janae Turner Edwards, 22, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Corlie Janae "CJ" Turner Edwards, affectionately known as Sunshine and Smiley, graced this world with her vivacious spirit on November 1, 2001, in Alexander City, AL. She was a beacon of joy and laughter, spreading warmth and love until her unexpected passing on June 24, 2024. Corlie's time on Earth was a testament to living life to the fullest, embracing every moment with a radiant smile, and always standing up for what you believe in.
Corlie was a graduate of Dadeville High School's Class of 2020 with big dreams of pursuing a career in Healthcare. She attended Auburn Community Church and loved her Lord with faithful devotion. Corlie had a natural ability to lift the mood of any room with her contagious and classic smiles. She knew just how to get you to laugh, but also knew when to step in as your partner in crime because she was down for anything. Corlie's passion for life was mirrored in her love for cheetah print, which reflected her fierce and bold personality, and her cherished Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee, a simple pleasure that she savored with delight. She loved to travel and found joy on the beaches of Panama City, a place which she considered her second home, and she also found comfort in the fragrant aisles of Bath & Body Works, a sensory haven that brought her much happiness.
Corlie's heart was as expansive as her smile. She was a natural caregiver, always the first to lend a hand and offer support. It was no secret that she was the family manager and the glue that held everyone and everything together. Her outgoing nature and sharp wit was always a source of entertainment. The catchphrase, "umm honey," was often the precursor to a moment filled with humor and light-heartedness. Motherhood was a role that Corlie cherished above all. She loved her baby, Toby Lee, with a fierce devotion, embracing every aspect of being a mama with joy and pride. Along with her husband whom she adored, their love for their baby boy was unmatched. Corlie was the better half to many, and there will always be a void left in the lives of those who knew her.
In every sense, Corlie was funny, loving, and spirited. These words only begin to scratch the surface of a soul who lived fully, loved deeply, and laughed loudly. Her spirit was a flame that danced in the wind, never extinguished, always glowing with the promise of tomorrow. To have known Corlie was to have known a piece of heaven on earth. She was a reminder that life is not about the destination but the journey, and she traveled hers with laughter and an open heart. Through all of the pain and heartache, she never missed the chance to make others happy. Her smile never faded and never missed out on the chance to make someone she loved feel special.
