Diane D. Wheeler's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mrs. Diane Dennis Wheeler, 87, of Jacksons Gap, will be Monday, November 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Dadeville City Cemetery. Dr. Ben Hayes will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Diane passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Veranda Assisted Living Facility. She was born on February 23, 1936 in Clanton, Alabama to Aaron C. Dennis and Myrtle Marie Kelly Dennis. For many years, Diane worked as an administrator for the US Steel Company. In July of 1955, she married her husband, Bethel Wheeler, Jr., and enjoyed the adventures of life together for 64 wonderful years. Diane loved being on the lake where she found joy in water activities and evening rides on the pontoon boat. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Dadeville and devoted much of her time to attending church groups, organizations, and outings with her fellow church ladies. When not at church, she enjoyed all types of arts and crafts, which could be found displayed throughout her home. Diane was a feisty and spunky woman who was always thinking of others before herself. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, "Nana," and friend to all who knew her.
Diane is survived by her son, Lee Stuart (Kim) Wheeler and grandchildren, Jarred Lee Wheeler, Jordan Aaron Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bethel Wheeler, Jr.; son, Mark D. Wheeler; parents, Aaron and Myrtle Dennis; and brother, Charles Wayne Dennis.
