Dora Kunkle Brown's Obituary
Funeral service for Mrs. Dora Kunkle Brown, 99, of Jackson’s Gap, will be Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Pastor Thomas Ray Pemberton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Southland Nursing Home in Peachtree City, Ga. She was born on September 27, 1914 in Wallace, WV to Albert C Kunkle and Florence Carson Kunkle. She was long time member of Jackson's Gap Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brown was a Godly woman who loved to study God’s word and worship her heavenly Father. Mrs. Brown will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother (Nannie), mother-in-law, and friend. Mrs. Brown was the previous owner of Diamond B Ranch and Diamond B Western Store in Jackson’s Gap.
She is survived by her son, William C. (Bill) Brown Jr. (Alesia) of Madisonville, Tn.; son-in-law, Larry V. Hatcher of Jacksonville, Fl.; grandchildren, Sharon Hatcher Daugherty (Jimmy) of Opelika, Al., Larry C. Hatcher (Nancy) of Jackson’s Gap, Al., Jerry A. Hatcher of Jacksonville, Fl., Theresa K. Whittenberg of Jacksonville, Fl., Rick Jeffery (Darla) of Waldron, Arkansas, Stephanie Brown Scott (Dean) of Douglasville, Ga., and Alison Brown Armstrong (Don) of Newnan, Ga. She also had 15 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, William C. (WC) Brown, daughter, Dora Fay Brown Hatcher and 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
