Doris passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Baptist Medical Center South. Born on Tuesday, September 1, 1942, in Elba, Alabama, she was the daughter of Mr. Bud Simmons and Mrs. Claude Lee Bryan Simmons. Doris was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and enjoyed singing. In her spare time, she loved cooking, traveling, antiquing, and decorating her home with her latest shopping finds. When the weather was warm, she would look forward to spending days out on the boat on Lake Martin. Doris brought joy to those around her because she never met a stranger. She was a great friend to have-outgoing, kind, and loyal.
Although mischievous at times, her humor and charismatic charm guaranteed that there'd never be a dull moment. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, James Waymer Morgan; grandchildren, Brittany (Kevin) McKay, Edward Bradford Bondurant, Jr.; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dwayne (Charlotte) Simmons, Judy (Charles) Rogers, Guy (Shirley) Simmons, Mable Ham, and Maxine Jones.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Bondurant; parents, Bud & Claude Simmons; and siblings.
