Floye Partridge passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Tallapoosa County on Monday, November 30, 1936, she was the daughter of Mr. Clifton Jefferson Coker and Mrs. Willie Velma Patterson Coker. Floye lived her life with grace, kindness, and a good heart. She was a true Southern matriarch that devoted herself to taking care of her family, a task that brought her much joy and fulfillment. Floye was a lifelong member of Eagle Creek Baptist Church and led a Christian life of faith. In her spare time, Floye could be found solving crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, or going for a nice walk. She never missed an opportunity to call her girl friends and spend hours catching up with how everyone was doing. The love she felt for her friends and community was strong but not as strong as the love for her family.
Floye was a loving wife to Gordon Partridge for 50 years and a caring MawMaw to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but nothing sounded sweeter than being called Mama. Since an early age, Floye dreamed of having nothing but boys, and the good Lord granted her wish by sending her three sons that she adored-Glynn, Steve, and Barry. She would always make sure that they were taken care of, well fed, and spoiled in the best way. When lunchtime approached, Mama could often be found delivering a freshly cooked lunch into the woods where her boys were working. On holidays, she'd look forward to cooking big family meals and inviting everyone to come. She will always be remembered for her good heart and kindness that always seemed to come with such ease.
"God's garden must be beautiful for He only takes the best."
Floye is survived by her sons, Glynn Partridge, Steve (Melanie) Partridge, Barry (Rhonda) Partridge; grandchildren, Kaylan (Matthew) Spraggins, Shannon Partridge, Wes (Natalie) Partridge, Tyler (Hannah) Partridge, great-grandchildren, Gabe Spraggins, Saylor Partridge; and brother, Marvin (Brenda) Coker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Partridge; parents, Clifton & Willie Coker; brothers, Robert Coker, Rev. Clyde Wendell Coker, Reuben Coker; and sisters, Eloise Wright and Eva Baker.
Langley Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Floye Marie Partridge.
