Mrs. Gennie Odessa Lashley's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Gennie Odessa Lashley, 91, of Camp Hill, Alabama, will be Monday, May 13, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Pentecost United Methodist Church. Pastor Dan Oravetz will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pentecost United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lashley passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at her residence. She was born on December 23, 1927 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Tommy Stroud and Essie Gamble Stroud. She was an active member of Pentecost United Methodist Church. Mrs. Odessa enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking for her family and picking blueberries. She was a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who never met a stranger. Her caring nature will be greatly missed not only by her family but many others.
She is survived by her son, William Thomas Brooks; daughters, Brenda Thornton (William Ricky), Kathy Bishop (Buddy), Mary Murphy; grandchildren, William Richard Thornton, Paulene Newman, Melissa Lewis (Jay), Michael Murphy, Michelle Dillard (Ronald), Vicki Thompson, Christy Moore (Ryan), Shannon Bishop, Christopher Bishop, Buddy Lee Bishop, Gina Halston, Bobby Carelli, Sammy Carelli; nineteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and sister, Mary Boddie.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Roy B. Lashley and parents.
