Mr. George Berry's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. George Woodson Berry, 66, of Dadeville, will be Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmy Sims will officiate. Burial will follow in the Langley Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
George passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Lake Martin Community Hospital. He was born on December 9, 1957 in Camp Hill, Alabama to Royce Hubert Berry and Myrtle Shurum Smith. George was a skilled truck driver and enjoyed traveling all over the country.
George was the epitome of a family man-loving, generous, and selfless. He cherished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, always going out of his way to spoil his grandchildren at every opportunity. His warm presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
An avid fan of the classic western series "Gunsmoke," George could often be found enjoying the adventures of the Old West from the comfort of his living room. His kind spirit and hearty laughter brought joy to every gathering.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue Berry of Dadeville; sons, George Berry, Jr. of Daviston, Royce (Lisa) Berry of Dadeville, and Michael Berry of Dadeville; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
