Mrs. Inez Yancey Johnson's Obituary
Funeral service Mrs. Inez Yancey Johnson, 92, of Reeltown, will be Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Yancey Sanders will officiate. Burial will follow in the Reeltown Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on January 27, 1921 in Ridge Grove, Alabama to Clarence Edwin Yancey and Nellie Henderson Yancey. She worked as a secretary for the Tallapoosa County Extension Service for 34 years until she retired, and she was a very active member of the Reeltown Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed being around people, sewing, and was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for others.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda J. Sharman (Randy) of Alexander City; son, Bill Johnson of LaFayette; grandchildren, Matthew Jason Sharman (Sarah), Meredith Jane Sharman, Jessica Johnson Asher (Johnny), Hannah Johnson Garrett (Scott), and Cody Buschmann Johnson; great-grandchildren, Ella Peyton Sharman, Mallory Eve Sharman, Lindley Inez Asher, Haze Johnny Asher, David Gates Garrett, Molly Kate Garrett, and William Clyde Garrett; and brother, Robert Lewis Yancey (Betty) of LaFayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Truett Johnson; her parents; and brother, Dewey Yancey.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be given to the Reeltown Cemetery Fund, 8424 AL Hwy 199, Notasulga, AL 36866.
