Mr. James Allen Harper's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. James Allen Harper, 69, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Harper will lie in state from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church. Rev. Jimmy Allen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. Harper passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 at his residence. He was born on April 14, 1952 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Allen Harper and Lizzie Norrell Harper. Mr. Harper loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was affectionally known as “PaPa” to them. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to dirt track races.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kay Harper; daughters, Tanya Allen (Travis) and Kayla Claybrook (Richard); son, Chris Harper (Andrea); nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Hartley (Thurston); and brother, Eugene Harper (Jeanette).
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Luna Mae Morgan; brothers, Clyde Harper, Lamar Harper, Fletcher Harper, Lanoyde Harper, and Bill Harper; and half-brother, Woody Howard.
