Mr. James "Jim" Edward Scott's Obituary
Memorial Service for Mr. James "Jim" Edward Scott, 68, of Montgomery, Alabama will be Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at UAB School of Medicine. Chaplin Stan will officiate.
Mr. Scott passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023. Mr. Scott was born on June 21, 1954 in Princeton, Indiana to Harold E. Scott and Norma Ashby Scott. He was a retired Police Officer with the City of Montgomery and currently was Supervisor of Security at Baptist South Hospital. Mr. Scott was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed bowling, fishing, and hunting. He went by Jim to friends and family. Jim always went out of his way to help anyone. He started out as a Motorcycle Traffic Officer and then worked with youth in the juvenile department in Montgomery City. Jim taught all his kids and grandkids how to fish and hunt. He truly was the best Dad and Grandpa that anyone could ever ask for.
He is survived by his wife, partner, and soulmate of 19 years, Rebecca Scott; daughters, Jennifer Trotman (Ronnie Scearce) and Lyndsey Whaley (Cory); grandchildren, Ivy Barber (William), Preston Trotman, Neill Trotman, Grace Ann Trotman, Jackson Whaley, and Adalyn Whaley; great-granddaughters, Layla Barber, Lily Barber, and Lyla Barber; mother, Norma Scott Hartzog (Bill); brother, Randall Scott; sister, Glenna Overby (Charlie); and nephews, Charles Overby, Christopher Overby, Caleb Overby, and Cassidy Overby.
He was preceded in death by his father.
