James Olice Moore Funeral Services for James Olice Moore of Camp Hill will be at Langley Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, January 17, 2013, at 11 AM. Burial will be in the Camp Hill Cemetery. Rev. Richard Hall and Rev. Jeff Hardin will officiate. Visitation from 5 PM-7PM, Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Langley Funeral Home. Olice Moore was born October 9, 1928 in Camp Hill to Mildred and Alex Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Mildred Moore, his sister, Beatrice Cannon Sloan and twin brother, Oscar Lee Moore. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, three children; deNise (Russ) Cowley, Angela (David) Hill and Clay (April) Moore. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Joey North, Ashley (Greg) Gremillion, Rusty Cowley, Stephen Ziembroski, Ernie Ziembroski, Will Hill and Kyle Hill and one great grandchild, Ansley Gremillion. In addition he is survived by three nephews, one niece, six great nieces and nephews and eight great great nieces. He graduated from Camp Hill High School before entering the Air Force. Upon returning, he was employed with Camp Hill Furniture Co. until 1964 when he went to work for the U. S. Postal Service retiring in 1988. In 1948, he became a member or the Camp Hill Volunteer Fire Dept. where he served as Fire Chief from 1977-1999 and serving as President for several years retiring in 2006 after 58 years. In October, 2000, he was honored along with five other firemen in Alabama for volunteering with a local fire department for 50 years or more. He was presented with two Resolutions form the House of Representatives and one Resolution from the Senate for his service. He was also honored at the Camp Hill Christmas Parade for his service to the town. He drove the ambulance in Camp Hill for many years. The American Legion Post 21, was another organization Olice was involved with for many years serving several offices there inclucing Commander. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Hill Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 217, Camp Hill, AL 36850 or Lake Martin Hospice, 201 Mariarden Rd., Dadeville, AL 36853.
