Mr. James Vardaman Vandevender's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. James Vardaman Vandevender, 96, of Auburn, Alabama, will be Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm (E.S.T.) at the Fort Benning Post Cemetery in Columbus, GA with full military honors provided by the U.S. Army. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm (C.S.T.) at Langley Funeral Home in Camp Hill.
Mr. Vandevender passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Dadeville Healthcare Center. He was born on October 7, 1922 in Preston, Mississippi to Jacob Vandevender and Bertha Alline Goodin Fulton.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra V. Crenshaw (Jim) of Auburn, AL; son-in-law, John Kennedy of Winter Springs, FL; grandchildren, James Kennedy (Heidi), Emily Kennedy, Lisa C. Colley (T.C.), Laura K. Meek and Randall W. Crenshaw (Angie); great-grandchildren, Clay Colley (Lauren), Courtney Johnson (Cliff), Haley Caldwell, Garrett Meek, Grace Meek, Carin Kennedy, Parker Kennedy, Rosey Kennedy and Kellan Crenshaw; great-great-grandchildren, Aubree Caldwell, Isla Jane Johnson, Aria Caldwell and Karter Crenshaw; and brother, Leon Fulton (Charlotte).
He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Vandevender; mother, Bertha Alline Fulton; step- father, William Alonzo Fulton; wife of 61 years, Bennie Vandevender; daughter, Sheryl K. Kennedy; and brother, Alton "Butch" Vandevender.
