Mr. James Riley "Pete" White's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mr. James Riley "Pete" White, 90, of Dadeville, will be Monday, December 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Waverly Cemetery with Rev. Paul Messer officiating.
Mr. White passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. He was born on August 25, 1935 in Atmore, Alabama to Charles James White and Thelma Opal Tullis White. He was a member of Red Ridge United Methodist Church.
Pete loved his family. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Late in life, he would beam from ear to ear when he heard those great-grandboys in person, on FaceTime, or in videos.
Pete also loved all things Auburn. If there was an Auburn sporting event, pregame, postgame, or a Radio Talk show on, you can bet “PawPaw” would be listening to it!! He was an Auburn Graduate and a Korean War Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Walton White; parents, Charles James White and Thelma Opal Tullis White; brother Maurice Earl White; and sister Thelma Jean White Till.
He is survived by his only daughter, Sheree, and her husband Pat Foshee of Chelsea, Alabama; sister, Joan Rounsaville of Atmore, Alabama; 4 grandchildren, Corey Foshee and his wife Megan, Casey Foshee and his wife Liz, Alex Foshee, and Mallory Foshee; 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan and Wells.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Red Ridge United Methodist Church, c/o Brown Bag Ministry, 8091 County Road 34, Dadeville, AL 36853.
