Mrs. Jeanette Lindsey Gilbert's Obituary
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Jeanette Gilbert, 95, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church of Dadeville. Pastor Sandy Crosslin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00am.
Jeanette Lindsey Gilbert passed away on November 1, 2024 at The Veranda at Lake Martin. She was born on September 3, 1929 in Jackson's Gap, Alabama. Jeanette was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Dadeville. She was named the Valedictorian of Tallapoosa County High School-Class of 1947. Jeanette worked as a Licensed Assistant Pharmacist at Pearson’s Pharmacy, retiring in 1997 after 50 years. She loved to cook and was known for her caramel and pound cakes. In her spare time, Jeanette also enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing Bingo, traveling with friends and watching the Auburn Tigers. Nothing brought her more joy in life than her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Steve) Templeton; grandchildren, Ryan (Brantley) Templeton, Anna (Reid) McDill; great-grandchildren, Henry Templeton, Everett Templeton, Tommy Templeton, Wade Templeton, Allie McDill, and Louise McDill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Yancey Gilbert; and mother, Inda Lindsey.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to staff of The Veranda at Lake Martin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Presbyterian Church or Friends of the Dadeville Library.
