Mr. Jerry Dale Pitts' Obituary
Funeral service for Mr. Jerry Dale Pitts, 72, of Jackson’s Gap, will be Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Lonnie Phillips and Rev. James Bolan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Eagle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. Pitts passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at his residence. He was born on August 30, 1942 in Tallassee, Alabama. Mr. Pitts worked as a truck driver. He was an avid Alabama fan and enjoyed fishing and camping. Mr. Pitts also enjoyed playing the drums and listening to old country music.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sue Wesson Pitts of Jackson’s Gap; daughters, Brenda Pressley of Jackson’s Gap and Melba Yarbrough of Alexander City; sons, Dwayne Dye of Roanoke and Robert Dale Pitts (Amber) of Boynton Beach, FL; 9 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; sisters, Frankie Collier of Dadeville and Mary Rape (Larkin) of Beauregard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lizzie Mae Yarbrough Hardwick; and brothers, Bill Pitts and Hank Hardwick.
