He went home to his Lord and Saviour and his precious bride, Miss Jane on Easter Sunday. Mr. Black was well loved in the Dadeville community, he loved his church, and he was always so good to his colleagues at the bank. My Mother loved him dearly. We are blessed to have known him. Find comfort in your faith and in knowing you will see him again.
Peggy, Jim, Bill and families, Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Your dad was one of Dadeville's finest. Cherish a long life of memories.
To Peggy, Jim and Bill, I have known Mr. Jim all my life but it was only after moving back to Dadeville in 2005 that Jerry and I got to know him and love him. He was very interested in what we were doing to the old Whorton house and he would come over and tell us some of the history of the place. He and Jerry became good buddies and we came to love him so much. We will miss him but are so glad that we had the opportunity to get to know him and love him. Our sympathy to the family.
To the Black family, I read in the morning Birmingham News that Jim had died! Such a wonderful picture! I was immediately taken back to childhood and growing up in Dadeville. I lived across the street from Jim,Jane and Peggy. Jim Black was one of the kindest and warmest men in Dadeville! My memory of him as a child was that "Mr. Black is such a nice grown up person." My thoughts are with the Black family as you celebrate the long life of Jim! Sandra Taylor, daughter of Joe and Louise Taylor.
Peggy, Jim, and Bill,Your Dad was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever known. May God bless you in your time of mourning, knowing your Dad is at rest and reunited with Miss Jane. Janet Gittings
Please accept my deepest sympathies.
