Funeral service for Ms. Joan Kelley, 81, of Dadeville, will be Monday, March 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Bro. Josh Sammons will officiate. Burial will follow in the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Millport, Al on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Ms. Kelley passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Dadeville Healthcare Center. She was born on February 17, 1935 in Lamar County, Alabama to Alvin Atkins and Maggie Lee Simpson Atkins. She was a member of New Concord Baptist Church, Dadeville, Al. Ms. Kelley loved working in her yard and tending to her flowers. She loved the lord and taught Sunday school for several years.
Several nieces and nephews as well as two sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Delores Atkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Woodrow Atkins, Amos Atkins, Wayne Atkins, Alton Atkins and Hoyt Atkins; sisters, Hazel McCullough and Ruth Atkins.
The family requests that no flowers be sent but memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice or to the church of one’s choice.
