Mrs. JoAnn Knight Atkins' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. JoAnn Knight Atkins, 79, of Dadeville, Alabama, formally of Bankston, Alabama will be Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Cleveland Church of Christ; 2536 Co. Rd. 93, Bankston, Alabama 35542 with Tate Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in the Cleveland Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Cleveland Church of Christ.
Mrs. Atkins passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at her residence. She was born on March 21, 1940 in Fayette County, Alabama to Joe Henry Knight and Ila Mae Montgomery Knight. Mrs. Atkins loved spending time with her family, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was a member of Cleveland Church of Christ. Mrs. Atkins also enjoyed sewing and gardening with her late husband, Rayford.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Pitchford (Jerry Hall) and Jeanne Breedlove (Jimmy); sister, Marsha Madison (Gilbert); brothers, Billy Knight (Linda) and Jimmy Knight (Patricia); grandchildren, April Evans, Clint Pitchford (Elizabeth), Amanda Hall, and Justin Breedlove; and her great-grandson, Jace Pitchford.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Rayford Atkins; parents and her brothers, Kenneth Knight and Marlin Knight.
