1929-2017
Funeral Service for Mr. Joe Marvin Minter, 87, of Camp Hill, Alabama, will be Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Sam Cawley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Camp Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Minter passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his residence. He was born on August 16, 1929 in Camp Hill, Alabama to Henry Lynn Minter and Bertha Louise Minter. He was a member of The Camp Hill Methodist at Antioch Church, The American Jersey Cattle Club and The Tallapoosa County Farmers Federation. He served as Tallapoosa County Commissioner from 1976-1984, was a supervisor for the Tallapoosa County Soil and Water Conservation and was a Director of the East Alabama Horseman’s Association. Mr. Minter enjoyed caring for his cattle and horses on his farm. Mr. Minter enjoyed riding and training his horses.
He is survived by his wife, Zada “Pete” Minter of Camp Hill; daughter, Kathy Minter Baker (Randall) of Lewisburg, TN; granddaughter, Katie Baker; great-grandson, Chevy Wilcox; niece, Paula Hearn Sims and nephews Hugh and Fred
Hefner.
He was preceded in death by his son, Henry Albert Minter; parents and sister, Kathryn Hearn.
