Funeral Service for Mr. Joe Allen Ponder, 68, of Jackson's Gap, will be Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Sardis United Methodist Church. Rev. Stephen King will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sardis United Methodist Read Obituary
Joe was always kind to me and everyone. Joe accidentally hit me in the face with a football during a pre game warmup when I was an 8th grade manager, but what I most remember about it was how he apologized and reached out and rubbed my head! Rest In Peace.
Andi and family: I like so many others share your sadness in losing Joe. He was a kind, well respected man who was a joy to be around. We were childhood friends through high school and college. I cherish my memories with Joe. God bless you.
ANDI, I just heard about Joe's death. He was so strong and help us while Chapman was having his treatments. He was a good friend to all. I know it will be hard on you for awhile. I am still trying to adjust from Chapmana's death. Please just remember the good times and remember your family, friends and God loves you. Love always, Janis.
So sorry to hear of Joe's home going. I was truly blessed to have known him. I am out of town and unable to attend the memorial. My condolences to the entire family.

Andi, Vicki, and family - i know your hearts are heavy - i am so sorry., Joe was my 1st grade boyfriend and the cutest little thing....as our family moved away eventually, i didn't know Joe as a teenager but when i saw him at the reunion a few years ago, he was just as cute and sweet as ever - i have held you close in my prayers these past years while he was sick and will continue to do so now. May the good Lord bless and keep you all.
