John was so many things to me- a trusted friend, a co-worker, and a person to look up to (literally at 6'5"") and admire for his dedication to success. His attitude was infectious- making problems appear as opportunities to have the chance to do something challenging and good. When this attitude was combined with commitment--it seemed to always result in a fun and successful result.
John loved life and family with the same commitment and intensity. Even though he was dealt some challenges on the health front, he didn't allow those difficulties to overtake his ability to find humor in his circumstance and to show concern for others as his way to deal with his own discomfort.
My life was enriched through John's friendship and I miss his presence but will continue to benefit from his spirit.
