Mr. John "Alton" Henderson's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mr. John “Alton” Henderson, 92, of Dadeville, will be Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 3:00 pm at the Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Ronnie Jennings will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. Henderson passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Lake Martin Community Hospital. He was born on August 25, 1926 in Chambers County, Alabama to William Ambrus Henderson and Mary Lelia Underwood Henderson. He was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Henderson was a loving husband, father and Pop. He enjoyed fishing, going out to eat and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean L. Henderson of Dadeville; daughters, Peggy Jean Moncus of Camp Hill, Lisa Henderson (Phil) Stephens of Camp Hill; grandchildren, Tammy A. White, Tracy Lynn (Scarlett) Moncus, Ashley Stephens, Anna Stephens; great-grandchildren, Autumn White, Shelby White, Dylan (Nicole) Moncus; great-great-grandchild, Tatum Moncus; brothers, Thomas Buford Henderson, Junior (Evelyn) Henderson, Jack Henderson; sisters-in-law, Rena Henderson, Joyce Tally; brother-in-law, Bubba (Betty Jo) Landrum; numerous nieces, nephews, special friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jesse Lee Henderson; sister, Willie Lee Henderson and son-in-law, John Clifford Moncus.
