Memorial Service for Mr. John Percy Oliver II, 77, of Dadeville, will be Friday, March 13, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church Dadeville. Dr. Ben Hayes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dadeville City Cemetery. The Read Obituary
I'm late to hearing about John's passing, and just wanted to share among the warm memories here that John was kind and a fundamentally decent man. I had many Thanksgiving meals at the home he and Melissa shared near Dadeville, and he was a gracious host, and I enjoyed talking with him about the legal profession and politics. In many ways, he represented to me the level-headed ideal of the small town lawyer, and I admired his career and outlook on life. Condolences to the family.
John Percy was a wonderful mentor and friend to me during my time in Dadeville. I was fresh out of law school and green as you could be. John Percy was always there to answer a question for me about law or life. In addition to being missed by his family, he will be truly missed by the legal community. Mr. John Percy was a very kind and wonderful person to know as a brother in Christ. I only knew him for a short time but he was a true blessing and Christian influence to me.l am thankful for the opportunity and time that the Lord allowed me to know him and admire his faithfulness and obedience.
