My heart is broken! Not because heaven is a little sweeter now with Ms Pennington but because so many students will never experience a lady like Ms Pennington. I took Typing II just so I could be in her class a second year. The last time I stopped by to visit her about six months ago, we both spoke of our Faith and Trust in the Lord and how blessed we both were to have the families we have. She loved her family dearly! Two last things (I hope she does not have the ability to see this posting because if she does, she is rolling her eyes right now) AND (if God happens to use a keyboard, I hope he never hits the space bar with His left thumb, because if He does, eternity is going to be much longer than even He thought)!

I Love you Ms Pennington, now you can enjoy all of eternity in the presence of our Lord!

My thoughts and prayers are with you, the family of Johnnie Fae, during this time of loss. I met Johnnie Fae through Jane Brom. During this past 30 years of knowing Johnnie Fae I found her to be a loving, caring and giving person to her family. She visited Jane, Betty & Bobby, Vance & Eubanks and Spooky & Alice many times and especially when they needed her. Her kindness will be remembered by many.

Mrs. Pennington was a tough but fair typing teacher. I remember in more than one occasion my fingernails being called attention to because they were too long. Most of the girls tried to have pretty nails and that did not coincide with perfect typing. She always smiled about it though and we loved her very much.

Many happy memories of this sweet lady. She really knew how to control a classroom! Usually all it took was a look. She was such a tower of strength, it showed in the fact she was a cancer survivor and her faith in God. She will be missed. Love and prayers for the family.

To all the Pennington family.....we have truly lost a great lady! She taught me Spanish and Typing at DHS.....and she taught me a lot about grace and Southern charm! I will forever remember how supportive she was when I became ill in Washington, DC on our senior trip. Truly, she was one of the last of the "good old gals"! I loved her in 1965, and I love her memory today! My prayers will surely be with all of you!

Mrs. Pennington had a strong influence on my life. She was a champion, encourager for me my Sr. Year in high school. Even after graduation and years later I would see her out and about, and her guidance with words of wisdom may me look forward to seeing her each and every time. I have loved seeing her on Facebook over the last couple years. Rest in Peace and enjoy those streets of gold with mom and dad.
