Mr. Jon Mark Ware's Obituary
Jon Mark Ware (Mark), passed away of a heart attack, at the age of 75, on May 17, 2026 at his Lake Martin home.
Mark found tremendous joy in making friends and family laugh through his witty humor and Ware-isms. Beneath the laughter was a deeply profound man of unwavering character and faith. He cherished quiet mornings on the porch studying the Word and seeking Jesus in all things. He truly modeled what it meant to live out the Gospel with humility, integrity, and a servant's heart.
Mark was the quintessential husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a fierce protector to those he loved, creating a haven of safety and security for his wife, Laurie. He guided his children with wisdom and patience, and absolutely adored his grandchildren, who brought an entirely new joy to his life.
Though he is deeply missed, we rejoice knowing with certainty that Jesus has welcomed him home, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
He was preceded in death by his parents C.L. Ware and Alice Jewell Ware.
He is survived by his adoring wife of 45 years, Laurel Propst Ware; his daughter, Allison Gruber (Steve) of Westminster, Colorado; his sons, Christian Ware (Ashley) of Montgomery, Alabama and Spencer Ware (Wynne) of Birmingham, Alabama; four loving grandchildren Charlie Ware and Palmer Ware of Montgomery, Alabama, Loflin Gruber of Westminster, Colorado, and John Salem Ware of Birmingham, Alabama; and his sister, Carla Lucas of Brandon, Mississippi.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Lodge at New Water Farms, 460 Civitan Rd, Dadeville, AL 36853, on Sunday, May 31 at 2:00 PM with a reception to follow.
