Mr. Joseph Clinton Davis Jr.'s Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Joseph Davis, 65, of Lafayette, Alabama, will be Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Langley Funeral Home. Elder Richard Pinnell and Rev. Bill Parker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. Davis passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 at East Alabama Medical Center. He was born on December 31, 1955 in Valley, Alabama to Joseph Clinton Davis, Sr. and Pearl Jones Davis. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church- LaFayette and was a lay speaker. Mr. Davis was very active in his community and was elected to the Chambers County Board of Education for 5 terms. He was an active member of the Chambers County Chamber of Commerce and served as a trustee for the Chambers County Department of Human Resources. He graduated from Valley High School and later received his Bachelor of Science in Human Resources from Auburn University. He completed his Masters Degree at Troy University and received a PhD from Auburn University. He worked for many years as the Manager of Human Resources for 25 years at Russell Corporation in LaFayette. He then served in that roll at Batson and Cook in West Point, GA and later at Seonyon E-Hwa in LaGrange, GA. He always treated all employees with the utmost care and concern. Mr. Davis enjoyed playing golf and all sports, especially Auburn Football. Bubbles, his dog, was a good friend and companion. Joe was a wonderful, loving, and caring husband.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan Camille Davis of LaFayette, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
