Judy Ann Crouch, known affectionately as Judy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024 at her home. Born on July 29, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, Judy's life was a tapestry of love, devotion, and service woven through the 71 years she graced this earth.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Bro. Miles Wayne Crouch, and their children, Amy Williams and David Crouch. Judy's legacy continues through her grandchildren, John Brooks Williams and Tatyana Williams, and her great-grandchild, Abel Williams, who brought her immense joy. She was a sister held dear by Bill (Jill) Abernathy, Mike (Brenda) Abernathy, and Rita (Allen) Waldrop, and a respected mother-in-law to Jay Williams. Her life was enriched by the companionship of special friends Linda Williams, Wayne and Betty Barber, and Joe and Sheila Davis, as well as the fellowship of her church family at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Edna Mildred Abernathy; and sisters, Janis Butler and Nancy Bryant.
For 37 years, Judy's skillful hands crafted quality garments as a seamstress at Russell Corporation, from which she retired with a legacy of hard work and dedication. Her colleagues remember her as a pillar of strength and reliability, whose presence uplifted the spirit of the workplace.
Judy's interests were as varied as they were passionate. She found pleasure in sewing and crafting. Floral arrangements were among her specialties, each one a testament to her love for color and nature. Her son, David, shared her enthusiasm for jigsaw puzzles, a hobby that allowed them precious moments of togetherness.
An avid shopper, Judy relished her trips to Belk, Kroger, thrift stores or to a yard sale. Her love for game shows and court shows provided her with endless entertainment and lively discussions with those around her.
Judy bled crimson and white as an avid Alabama fan, her spirit and energy infectious during game days. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and as a longtime and active member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ, she embodied the teachings of her faith through her actions and words.
Above all, Judy loved her family fiercely and without reservation. Their gatherings were a source of immense happiness for her, a time to cherish the bonds that only a loving family can provide. Judy's love was a beacon that guided her family through life's challenges and triumphs.
Described by those who knew her as loving, faith-filled, and selfless, Judy's presence was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her actions spoke volumes of her character, and her memory will be a treasure locked in the hearts of her loved ones.
