Ms. June Carole Petty's Obituary
Ms. June Carole Petty, 84, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 27th, 2026. Born in Jackson’s Gap, Alabama on April 25, 1942, she was the beloved daughter of Mr. John Wesley Petty, Sr. and Mrs. Annie Pearl Whitman Petty. Carole grew up in Tallapoosa County and graduated from Dadeville High School in 1960. She was a good student and was the first of her family to go to college, attending Jacksonville State University. Her family was always very proud that she was the first one to have that opportunity. Carole was known for her beautiful smile and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley Petty Sr. & Annie Pearl Petty; and siblings, John Wesley Petty, Jr., Harold Whitman Petty, Larry O'Neal Petty, Ruth Earl Petty, Connie Jo Burkhalter, Geraldine Fuller, Glenda Jean "Dinky" Bailey and Evelyn Shelton.
Carole is survived by and lovingly remembered by her sister, Sandra Petty Granger and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Though much of Carole’s adult life was marked by significant health challenges, she was deeply loved by her family. They take comfort in knowing she is now at peace.
