Mr. Larry Gay Turley's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mr. Larry Gay Turley, 58, of Dadeville, will be Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens. Mr. Lamar Hartley will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. Turley passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at his residence. He was born on September 10, 1962 in Lineville, Alabama to Hoyt Lee Turley and Vernell Gill Turley. Larry was a great guy. He was very honest, patient and selfless. Larry always wanted to do for others and would give the shirt off his back. He was a hard worker and worked 7 days a week. Larry was a master mechanic and could fix anything. He worked at S&S Tire in Dadeville for many years and had a positive impact on his co-workers, customers and friends. Larry also loved to joke around and pick on others. He loved his family very much, especially his grandbabies and being “Pops” was his greatest joy.
Larry is survived by his sons, Johnny Stroud (Sherry) and Larry Bryan Turley, both of Dadeville; grandchildren, Ashley Stroud, Audrianna Chambers (Jared) and Jamie Stroud; great-grandchildren, Jayden Chambers, Gunnar Chambers, Kayden McCormick, Sierra McCormick, Paizlee Norrell and Kade Terrell; Larry’s special angels, Karen Reeves and Deana Ham; sisters, Betty White of Ashland, Minnie Hughes, Annie Young (Don) and Ruby Harmon (Jerry), all of Lineville; brother, Willie Turley of Ashland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy Ann Turley; and brothers, Hoyt Turley, Jr., Tommy Turley, James Clyde Turley and Edward Lee Turley.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be given to Ivy Creek Hospice, 201 Mariarden Road, Dadeville, AL 36853.
