Mrs. Linda Diane Bartlett's Obituary
Graveside Service for Linda Diane Bartlett, 68, of Alexander City, will be Monday, July 24, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens. Bro. Bruce Willis and Bro. Phillip Gibson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Langley Funeral Home.
Linda passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham. She was born on January 11, 1955 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Charles Harold Sims and Vernese Garrett Kellum. Linda was a member of various churches around Tallapoosa County. Alongside her husband, she served in many roles and duties in those churches. Linda was a hardworking woman who wore many hats (sun visors). She started working in retail, helped her husband with catering, and then worked alongside her sister at Jacob's Ladder Preschool until her retirement.
In her leisure time, Linda enjoyed working on puzzles and talking on the phone with her sister. Her quick wit and mathematical mind could also solve any equation or math problem thrown her way. She was an avid Auburn and NFL football fan. On Sundays, she enjoyed listening to gospel music and the sermons preached on TV. Linda loved her family and friends. She would often go out to eat with them as well as just being around them.
Linda is survived by her mother, Vernese Garrett Kellum; son, Jason Bartlett; grandson, William Bartlett; fur-baby, Suzie Q. Bartlett; sister, Melissa Pritchard; brother, Stanley (Marilyn) Sims; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Harold Sims; husband, Carlton Leo Bartlett; daughter-in-law, Wendy Crew Bartlett, brothers-in-law, Sonny Pritchard and William "Bill" C. Bartlett, Jr.
