I have many fond memories from my childhood with Ms. Lucille's son Paul at their home at Simon's crossroads...….softball games in a grass field across the road, pomegranates from the tree in their yard, plums from the trees that grew wild along the sides of the dirt road in front of their house, cold water drawn with a rope and bucket from the well that was on the side porch of their house. Card games played on the kitchen table in the summer evenings. Ms. Lucille was always kind and gracious and her fried chicken was the best that I have ever tasted. She will live on in my memories.
