Mrs. Mabel Hubbard Rhodes' Obituary
Funeral service for Mrs. Mabel Hubbard Rhodes, 84, of Dadeville, will be Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Dadeville. Rev. Gary Wiggins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at First Baptist Church of Dadeville.
Mrs. Rhodes passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Bethany House. She was born on October 9, 1930 in Montgomery, Alabama to Maude Ellen Hubbard and Minnie Ward Hubbard. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dadeville. Mrs. Rhodes retired from Auburn University. She was always very organized, loved doing projects, and was an excellent cook who was known for her delicious pecan pies. Mrs. Rhodes also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and spending time with her family especially the babies.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Baker (Bobby), of Camp Hill and Carol Alford (Larry), of Peachtree City, GA; grandchildren, Paige Nelson (Chad), Julie Baker, Joanie Dubose (Craig), Jenny Alford, Cole Baker, and Mark Alford; great-grandchildren, Karley Nelson, Shelby Nelson, Bronson Dubose, Claire Dubose, Dean Dubose, and Elaine Dubose; sisters, Mary English of Union Springs, Maureen Winslow of Troy, Margaret Adams (Tom), of Union Springs; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Hubbard of Ramer and Jodie Hubbard of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Rhodes; her parents; and brothers, John Hubbard and Harold Hubbard.
