Mr. Manuel Kenneth Laddie's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Manuel Kenneth Laddie, 76, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Rev. Jud Waldrop and Rev. Rodney Prickett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Langley Funeral Home.
Mr. Laddie passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at East Alabama Medical Center. He was born on October 18, 1939 in Camp Hill, Alabama to Kenneth Earl Laddie and Lonnie Arlene Laddie. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved the Tallapoosa River and enjoyed gathering there with friends and family. He also loved camping and teaching children about the outdoors and local history. Mr. Laddie loved to play checkers, chess, and dominoes. He enjoyed music, and played the guitar, mandolin, and banjo. Mr. Laddie worked for Folmar Architectural Millwork as a wood craftsman. He served in the United States Navy with two tours in Vietman and one tour in Guantanamo Bay. He was a Machinist Mate Second Class.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Laddie of Dadeville; daughter, Donna Lynn Waldrop (Jud) of Newville, AL; sons, Earl Simpson of Columbiana and J.C. Laddie (Amber) of Goodwater; grandchildren, Magan Greeson (Andrew), Seth Waldrop (Liz), Lucas Waldrop (Katlynne), Morgan Simpson, Lexi Simpson, Kristen Laddie, Matthew Laddie, and Kylie Laddie; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Greeson, Makyna Greeson, Sadie Greeson, and Kinsley Waldrop; sisters, Janet Prickett and Pam (D.J.) Frangopoolos; and brother, Leroy Laddie (Elizabeth).
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat Cotton; and brother, Leon Fincher.
