Mr. Marion E. "Buddy" McCrary's Obituary
Funeral service for Mr. Marion E. “Buddy” McCrary, 92, of Dadeville, will be Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Red Ridge United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Rev. Paul Messer and Rev. John Mann will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the church. Burial will be Friday, October 11, 2013 at 1:00 pm CST at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, Georgia.
Mr. McCrary passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 at his residence. He was born on March 5, 1921 in Beaumont, Mississippi to Lawrence Marion McCrary and Evelyn Schwarzauer McCrary. He was a WWII veteran and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. McCrary was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, and spending time with his family most of all.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ellen C. McCrary of Dadeville; daughters, Pennie LaFon (Tom) of Jackson’s Gap, and Julia Franzman (Rick) and Mildred Savory (Brian) all of Atlanta, GA; sons, Charles McCrary (Anne) of Cumming, GA and Jim McCrary of Villa Rica, GA; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Wells of Mobile; brother, Marvin McCrary; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mildred Allen.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Red Ridge United Methodist Church Building Fund, 8091 County Road #34, Dadeville, Alabama 36853.
