Mrs. Mary Barnes Boozer's Obituary
Funeral services for Mary Agnes Mason Barnes Boozer, age 90, of Sunset Road, Hillsboro, KY, and formerly of Dadeville, will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Jim Hamm officiating. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2013, at Dadeville Cemetery in Dadeville, Alabama, with Brother Jim Hamm officiating. Visitation will from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Mrs. Boozer passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg.
Born November 23, 1923, in Tallassee, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Obie Lee and Alberta Atkins Mason.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mac Lee Barnes in 1970; second husband, Fred Aldrich Boozer in 1996; one son, Rex Mason Barnes in 1990; and one brother, Obie William Mason.
Mrs. Boozer is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mac Lee and Joyce Barnes of Hornbeck, Louisiana, and John Michael and Vivian Barnes of Hillsboro, Kentucky; one daughter, Mary Anne Short of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Barnes of Carrollton, Mississippi; one brother, Louis Sanford Mason of Gulf Shores, Alabama; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Mrs. Boozer was a homemaker and enjoyed entertaining friends, especially the senior citizens. She was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church and one of the founders of the Hillsboro Widows’ Group and Hillsboro Christian Church mission group.
Pallbearers will be Danny Lewis, Jackie Pollitt, Mike Cox, Richard Clark, Herman Shelley, Paul Cooper, and Richard Ingles.
