Mary Patricia Crouch Chicha, known lovingly as Pat, passed from this life on May 11, 2026, in Dadeville, Alabama, after a life marked by faith, devotion, and a deep love for the people and places that shaped her.
Pat was born on February 15, 1952, to Charlie Benston Crouch, II. and Alma Lugene Railey Crouch, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. She carried the strength of her roots with her throughout her life, and she lived with a spirit that was both steady and bright. She was a Christian woman whose faith was not simply spoken, but lived out in the way she loved, served, and encouraged others. She was an active member of New Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Those who knew her will remember her as loving, faith-filled, and passionate, three words that only begin to describe the heart she shared so freely.
Pat made her life a testimony of perseverance and care. She was known for her time at Mr. C's Seafood, where her presence and work ethic left a lasting impression. She understood the value of hard work, the importance of showing up, and the power of doing even ordinary things with excellence. Her life reminded others that purpose is found not only in great achievements, but also in the faithful way a person meets each day.
She found joy in the simple and beautiful things of life. Pat loved fishing, arrowhead hunting, watching hummingbirds, playing board games, and caring for the neighborhood cats. She especially cherished time spent with her family, and those moments were among the greatest treasures of her life. Whether she was gathered around a table, enjoying a quiet afternoon, or sharing laughter with those she loved, Pat made people feel welcomed, valued, and at home. Her presence brought warmth, and her love created memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of many.
Pat is survived by her son, Wayne Yarbrough and Angie, her daughter, Tabatha Wise and Bubba, and her daughter, Nicole Dean and Lewis. She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her legacy forward. She is also survived by special loved ones Linda Yarbrough and Betty Jones. The lives she touched are many, and the love she gave has multiplied across generations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas John Chicha, son, Paul Chicha, her father, Charlie Benston Crouch, II, her mother, Alma Lugene Crouch, and her brothers, Owen Crouch, Douglas Crouch, Dallas Crouch, Guy Crouch, Charlie Crouch, Jr., and Tim Crouch. Though her family has experienced profound loss, her life remains a powerful reminder that love does not end when a life on earth is complete. The bonds she formed, the lessons she taught, and the faith she lived will continue to speak for her.
Pat’s life was not defined by ease, but by endurance. She showed what it means to keep going, to keep loving, and to keep believing. She stood as an example of a woman who met life with courage and carried herself with grace. Her story encourages all who hear it to live fully, love deeply, and hold tightly to faith. She leaves behind a legacy that calls others to be kinder, stronger, and more grateful for the time they are given.
Today, we honor Pat not only for the years she lived, but for the way she lived them. We remember her laughter, her tenderness, her determination, and her unwavering heart. We celebrate a life that mattered, a woman who made a difference, and a soul whose influence will continue to shine through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
