Joyce, So very, very sorry to hear of your dear Mother’s passing! I did not hear about this until today Dec.4,2017!! My special memories are of an unselfish, kind, and compassionate woman who took me under her gentle wings while my husband was in harms way in Vietnam fighting against the Communist takeover! Since your Mom had been married to your Dad during WWII and he had even been a prisoner of war ;she knew just how very lonely and worried I was!! No one could have been nicer,she even sent my husband packages of food! You never forget such compassion! I will always hold her in highest esteem!!

Joyce, Sad news to learn of Mrs. Mullican's passing. Mr. and Mrs. Mullican and you were the next door neighbors to my parents and myself when we moved to Dadeville in 1951. My mother, Kathleen, loved Ruth very much. The three of you were a wonderful family to have as next door neighbors. Mr. Joe did the pictures at Ann and my wedding in 1972. Did not learn of death until we read it in the Dadeville Record on Thursday 11-30-17. Sorry we missed the visitation. Joyce remember we love you and your family. Doug Atkins and family

The children of the late Lester (Dadeville) and Peggy (Camp Hill) King loved Mattie Ruth and Joe Mullican. We Barbara King Dobbins, all Auburn natives, Dr Joe King (Lexington KY - named after Joe Mullican), Travis, Nancy King Capps and Leslie King Smith, were nutured, hugged and fed by Ruth. Although we were wild kids running through their farm as we learned about pomegranates, chickens, horses/mules, riding in trucks, swimming in Lake Martin back water, were treated as her children. Ruth and Joe were there for mom and dad's marriage and their beautiful daughter Joyce was there in our mourning for our mom and dad. We have so many memories of Ruth and Joe as Joe was our dad's oldest friend. Ruth was there taking care of all of us and remaining such a fine lady. We love you. Ruth. God be with you as you are meeting all of your family and ours. We loved you. Joyce. thoughts and prayers for you. God bless.
