Ms. Melanie Black's Obituary
Funeral Service for Ms. Melanie Black, 61, of Gadsden, Alabama, will be Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of Langley Funeral Home. Jimmy Black will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dadeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Ms. Black passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 in Gadsden, Alabama. She was born on April 14, 1957 in Alexander City, Alabama to William Ed Black, II and Sara Ruth Evers Black. Melanie had a great sense of humor and loved being with her family. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and the beach. She attended Dadeville High School and graduated from Tallapoosa Academy where she was a cheerleader. She received her college degree from UAB and worked as a lab technician at several medical facilities including Russell Medical Center.
She is survived by her sister, Nelda Black Choate (Tim) of Gadsden; brother, William Ed Black, III of Columbiana; brother-in-law, Bennie Sandlin, of Hoover; nephew, Chris Moon (Noelle); nieces, Dana Holland and Wendy Miller (John), great nephews and nieces, Chase and Mallory Fowler, Justin, Dalton, and Logan Murphree, Bradley and Julie Holland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Bonnie Sandlin.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
